This online IV Access and Medication Administration course is for Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians (AEMTs) and Paramedics and has been approved for 1 Contact Hour (1 CEUs) of BLS/ALS Instructor-based Continuing Education by CE Provider #56-0013.
This training specifically addresses methods of administering medication, how to calculate medication dosages, tools used to administer medication, and more.
Safety Unlimited offers busy AEMTs and Paramedics the ability to complete this IV Access and Medication Administration course online, any time, at their own pace. This online course meets local and state requirements for California and can be used to contribute to refresher requirements.
This course can be used by AEMTs and Paramedics as continuing education to contribute to renewal requirements.
Following the completion of all training content and achievement of a passing score on the exam, students will need to complete a brief evaluation and confirm their identity. After doing so, the student will have access to the course completion certificate.
This course has one exam based on the content in the course. The exam consists of 10 random questions taken from a larger pool of questions. Students must score an 80% or higher to pass. Students can retake the exam as many times as necessary.
This course consists of a single section. Students must complete this section before taking the exam.
The objectives of this EMS-CE (1 hour) - IV Access and Medication Administration course is to provide AEMTs and Paramedics with knowledge about dosage and related topics while earning continuing education credits that can be applied to recertification or general retraining requirements.

Each state sets its own standard for what is required for Paramedic Refresher Training and which courses are accepted. This course meets the National EMS Scope of Practice Model, which is the minimum standard for all states.

Training providers should be used to ensure credibility and augment an employer's training program. Therefore, in addition to the training provided by an outside party, students should receive site-specific training that is supplied by his or her own companies. This training should target the company's unique approach to hazard prevention, including the use of site-specific equipment, health and safety policies, and emergency procedures. As a rule, this company specific training should be well documented.
