As of June 15, 2021, California has removed the Blueprint and has mostly reopened the State. To this end, all of our classrooms will resume normal operations and student enrollment. We will continue to frequently wipe down our facilities to maintain cleanliness. The wearing of masks is optional for students. We are available for onsite as well as traveling course training.

This online EMS-CE (48 Hours) Paramedic Refresher Topics course meets local and state requirements for California and is Instructor based training for California Licensed Paramedics.

Take this course completely online at your own pace. You have the option to purchase a textbook with this training as well as skills testing. Online Training Systems offers the busy EMT the ability to complete the required 48 Hours of EMS-CE refresher training online and at anytime. This course meets local and state requirements for California. This course qualifies for Instructor based training.

How This Course Applies

State of California Paramedics

This course counts as the required 48 hours of EMS Continuing Education (CE) for current or expired Paramedics in California. This course is based upon the Paramedic Refresher topics as outlined in the National EMS Curriculum.

For Nationally Registered Paramedics (through the NREMT)

Safety Unlimited offers CAPCE Accredited NCCP Refresher options for those Paramedics who need NREMT recertification.

About This Course

Following the completion of all training content and achievement of passing scores on all exams, students will need to complete a brief evaluation and confirm his/her identity. After doing so, the student will have access to the course completion certificate.

Module Exams

This course has 9 Module Exams based upon the 9 Modules. There is no FINAL EXAM. Each Module Exam consists of 10 random questions taken from a larger pool of questions from that Module. Students must score an 80% or greater to pass and can reattempt the exam as many times as necessary to do so.

California

This Safety Unlimited, Inc. EMS-CE (48 Hours) Paramedic Refresher Topics course is approved by the state of California (provider #56-0013) and the Ventura County EMS Agency (provider #56-0013), and meets the state requirements for Paramedic Refresher CE training. This course also applies towards the NREMT requirements as described on the Overview Tab

Other States

Each state sets its own standard for what is required for Paramedic Refresher Training and which courses are accepted. This course meets the National EMS Scope of Practice Model, which is the minimum standard for all states.

Training providers should be used to ensure credibility and augment an employer's training program. Therefore, in addition to the training provided by an outside party, students should receive site-specific training that is supplied by his or her own companies. This training should target the company's unique approach to hazard prevention, including the use of site-specific equipment, health and safety policies, and emergency procedures. As a rule, this company specific training should be well documented.
